How to Create a New Collection in WhiskeyMate (iOS & Android)

<h2>Why create a collection?</h2> <p>Collections are how WhiskeyMate organizes bottles. Every bottle you add is associated with a collection.</p> <h2>Steps to create a collection</h2> <ol> <li><strong>Open the create screen</strong>: <ul> <li><strong>iOS</strong>: In <strong>Collections</strong>, use the <strong>New Collection</strong> action (or tap the <em>Create Collection</em> placeholder collection, if shown).</li> <li><strong>Android</strong>: Open the app menu and tap <strong>New Collection</strong>.</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>Enter a title</strong>: Give your collection a name. The title can’t be empty. (On Android, the title also can’t be <code>newCollection</code>.)</li> <li><strong>Add a description</strong> (optional): Add details about the theme or purpose of the collection.</li> <li><strong>Add photos</strong> (optional): <ul> <li><strong>iOS</strong>: You can add a collection photo using the photo library or camera (camera access depends on device permission).</li> <li><strong>Android</strong>: You can <strong>Pick Image</strong> (system picker) or <strong>Take Photo</strong> (camera permission required).</li> </ul> <p><strong>Premium note</strong>: Adding <em>more than one</em> collection image is a Premium feature on current builds.</p> </li> <li><strong>Create/save</strong>: Tap <strong>Create Collection</strong> (Android) or save/create in the iOS flow.</li> </ol> <h2>Limits (free vs Premium)</h2> <ul> <li><strong>Multiple collections</strong>: On current builds, free users are limited to <strong>one</strong> collection. Premium allows more.</li> </ul> <h2>Tips &amp; troubleshooting</h2> <ul> <li><strong>Image orientation</strong>: Collection images display best when they’re landscape. Android also warns that portrait images aren’t ideal for collections.</li> <li><strong>Connectivity</strong>: Creating a collection may require network connectivity (especially when uploading images and saving to the cloud). If you’re offline, saving can fail.</li> <li><strong>Drafts (Android)</strong>: If you leave mid-creation, Android can save a draft. When you return, you may be prompted to <strong>Load Draft</strong> or <strong>Discard Draft</strong>.</li> </ul>
